Three main topics, united by one question: how do transcriptional and epigenetic programs determine what a dendritic cell becomes and what it does?
Cell fate
We map enhancers, chromatin accessibility and transcription factor networks to understand how DC subsets emerge from progenitors and acquire specialized functions.
Mucosal immunity
We study RORγt⁺ DCs in food tolerance, peripheral Treg induction, intestinal homeostasis and the regulation of type 2 immunity.
Immune diversity
We investigate plasmacytoid DCs, pDC-like cells, cDC2 heterogeneity, and their roles in antiviral immunity, autoimmunity and cancer.

The Rodrigues Lab is a team where everyone contributes equally to science. Our research focuses on dendritic cell development, immune tolerance, and the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms that control immune cell specialization.
